Automotive mechatronics technicians typically work in garage facilities, often specializing in specific car brands. They generally have regular business hours with a 5-day workweek, except in companies offering roadside assistance services.
Their responsibilities include maintaining vehicles, performing various repairs on the chassis, drive system, and engines of passenger cars. They inspect vehicle technical systems, conduct repairs, and equip vehicles with additional devices, special equipment, and accessories. These systems include chassis, engine, and drive components, as well as electrical, electronic, comfort, and safety systems.
The training also includes a driving test, and the costs for 15 practical driving lessons are usually covered by the training provider. To qualify for this position, you must have completed compulsory schooling, typically up to the highest school level, and pass the FTS suitability test.
